Ginger Simple Syrup

For all your cocktail and cooking needs…

Ginger simple syrup is easy to make, takes no more than a few minutes, stores well, and leaves you with plenty of ginger syrup for all your cocktail and cooking needs.

Ingredients

¼ cup water

¼ cup sugar

2-inch knob fresh ginger | roughly chopped into small mince sized pieces

A pinch of salt

Instructions

Step 1

Combine the water, sugar, ginger, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 1-2 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and cool completely.

Step 2

Pour the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve. Press on the ginger to try and extract as much of the flavor as possible. You can store your syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. Enjoy.
